This is such a beautiful piece...and dA found it for me as a "deviation similar to my work". <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let…" width="15" height="15" alt=":P" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="395" title=":P (Lick)"/>

Well enough of that and onward to the critique. I will first admit the painting has a very high impact with all the bright colors along with the naked woman. It seems to be set from something erotic during the Medieval or Gallic times like a female version of Gallahad or William Wallace with extra sexy thrown into the mix. Being that red is my favorite color and fire always appeals to my nature, I easily associated myself to the painting thus understanding the vision as well.

Technique is really good. I can see that hard brush strokes were used which is very rare when it comes to detailed painting work. I can't see any water blending but the light and shading is really good especially with the upper-left hand corner of the painting. where this painting gets a bit of lower score from the other factors is originality since this was made utilizing a source picture - which there is nothing wrong with that because I do it too, but whenever I think of something "original", I think of "from scratch".
