I think this is a hugely successful piece of work! Your skill with pencils is evident in your smooth and careful blending, and incredible realism, particularly in the eyes. You've portrayed such a powerful gaze that completely brings the viewer in and is a perfect focal point for the piece.
The colours you have used are captivating (particularly in the shadows, and especially under the eyebrows) and harmonious, and again show skill, considering the reference photograph is much less colourful. I love that you've added to the reference by choosing different colours!
I realise this is a WIP, so I'm presuming you will continue shading the lower left corner? I think it would complete the piece if it was much darker in tone to contrast the lighter tones of the face. Maybe even filling the lower left corner with hair? For me personally the strands across the face interrupt the harmony of the piece and look out of place. I think subtly suggesting there was hair falling down on the left would create a greater sense of balance.
For me, all other aspects are perfect. The work has fantastic detail, is captivating and dreamlike, and stays with viewers long after they've seen it, I'm sure.
