hmmm... this is my first time critiquing... hmmm, great composition. her blue eyes stand out marvelously from her warm skin. You place very important details in her cheeks, lips, and hair (eg. freckles, hair, light). This is very bold in contrast which shows confidence, you don't seem afraid to make dark marks. The whole picture seems well unified in color, in other words, a good amount of variety in colors. This is a very emotional theme with the thought that children make honest expressions.
i believe every artworks has flaws but i can't see them here. i think you're the only one that will ever be able to know where there are.lol .... i can't wait to see more from your work.
You did a gorgeous job of handling the pencils with regards to blending. Even where someone might have been tempted to create hard lines in the hair, everything just blends seamlessly into the next area. I am also quite taken with how you took a just OK photo and made it so much more intense while remaining true to the subject. The balance and sense of depth in the painting are just fantastic. I feel as if I could reach out and touch this person's hair and skin in the pic and there would be no falseness to it. Simply amazing work!
