That's a really great painting! If I were painting it I might add a little more shading on the left side of her face, but it has amazing details. I think using a soft grey/ black pastel could work really well so it won't be too intense. Obviously it's your painting so you don't have to do any of that. Other than that it's very intense and has a lot of depth to it. I think the way you painted the hair with different colors makes it much more original and it's really cool and funky. Thanks for reading and keep art-ing!
i am so glad you like it!!! Ok to the file part now. This is A3 size.My scanner is A4 so you understand i couldnt scan this painting,i simply used my camera to make a photo of it.The size of the photo is 4,64 MB and i cant find another way to make a larger file...maybe i am missing something? If there is a way somehow and i am not aware plz let me know! Kisses!
well...these colors were apparently only inside my head and not in the ref Yeah they are kinda bold, but then again i love provoking as much as i love the huge emotional impact to images. Its just the expression remained the same me thinks.. thank you my friend!
I love your style, its like no other water color I've seen! and the colors here look amazing, so vibrant. Very nice work! The only thing is, maybe its just me, but I think she looks older in the painting. I didnt really realize that it was a portrait of a young child until I looked at the reference photo. I think it might be due to the fullness of the lips (specifically, the bottom lip on her right side.) But other than that, Its fantastic! nice work.
She looks older in my painting indeed.Tis true i didnt follow the ref strictly, meaning i deviated a lot from it apparently.Colors are different, shading is different, its only natural to have a different image as a result, right? Somehow you can always see its her,but older.. well, different colors can do that thank you very much Kelli for the thoughtful comment!
ooh ok its watercolors A3 size,on cold pressed 300grm watercolor paper,i am not really the most appropriate person to give advice about watercolor, because this is my first one My brushes havent been very helpful i will need to change them soon so... i am sry if i am not very helpful
Well i am better equipped now with a new watercolor set and i ll try again under a different perspective.I did change my ref a lot, like A LOT,and surprisingly Tracie looks happy about it! I am very stubborn and persistent and cunning, and in the end one way or the other i ll make this work for me lol thank you sweetheart!!
Well...those are characteristics of an independent lady who is an artist..you have to love your work as much as we do..we all can be a little hard on ourselves when the picture doesn't turn out the way we want it too! I see a sweet girl who is colorful like sunny smiles and orange blossom kisses~! I am looking forward to your next venture!! Good thing you bought new watercolors~!! Now..take a break and keep smilin'!! Hugs to you sweetie!!!
It needs much more than this to make me happy Nick.. I ll wait a lil bit for my order (45watercolor cakes set winsor%newton) to arrive and then i ll give it one more shot. And lets hope i ll succeed where i have failed till now... But you know what? for being so sweet!!
